I love Twitter now… I think the first post I wrote on my blog when I moved to Peru was about Twitter and what it was, or more accurately what the hell it was.  I have for almost a year now been advising people on how to use Twitter and why they should be using it and how they should be using it to communicate with customers.  And it is first and foremost a communication tool.

What I don’t really understand is the Terms and Conditions.  I say this because I recently started using Twitter tags.  For those who don’t know what they are it is a # with a relevant word after it.  I became a presenter on an internet Marketing web chat site called www.TalkMarketingNow.com and I thought it would make sense to have a hash tag for the website and it’s channel so when people were talking people could also comment via twitter and in theory build exposure for the  website.  Earlier this evening Idid one tweet for #TMN and realised that #TMN was being used for a Latin American Telephone Network so we decided to change it to #TMNN which I then started to follow to see who else was tweeting.

There weren’t all that many… but to make it worse… my tweets were not showing up.  I looked into it for ages and it seems that my twitter account has been banned from appearing in the Searches for some reason and I dont really see why.

My account is filled with semi interesting content and no spam and it is all manual with the exception of blog posts being automatically tweeted…. so I am not sure what I was doing wrong.  Maybe it has something to do with the fact I recently started following more people…. but I cant really think it is that either!

So would be interested to hear other peoples experiences and whether you have been banned from Twitter or indeed from anywhere else!
